A Win in More Way Than One

A Win in More Way Than One

A day at the carnival lead to me having an unexpected visit to a chiropractor in Santa Rosa. I was with a date and we were just walking around, going on various rides and playing the carnival games. We came to one of those old dunk tank games where you have to throw balls at a target to move a platform with a person sitting on it, causing the person to fall into a tank of water below. The winner gets a prize, and I wanted to win one for my date, so I played the game. I was given three balls to play the game, and I missed with the first two balls. On my third throw, I launched a ball right at the target and hit it dead center.

The platform moved and the person fell in the tank, but in the process, I twisted a back muscle. I didn’t feel like celebrating my victory because I was in too much pain from what had happened. My date watched my face turn from a smile to the look of someone who had just been punched. I told her what happened and my date helped me get back to the car so we could get to the chiropractor.

My date stayed with me the rest of the day while my back was being examined. I apologized to her for ruining our date, but she told me that she had a fun time and wanted to go out again after my back was fully healed. Luckily for me, my injury was something that would be healed in about a week with some rest, so I was already making plans for another date in the chiropractor’s office. My date even volunteered to come over to my house and nurse me back to health.
