I love to play tennis even though I am not very good at it. I am not trying to play at the Wimbledon games though. I just enjoy lobbing some balls around with a few of my friends. We started off doing it to get some exercise, but it quickly grew into a fun way for the four of us to get together and just have some fun. The last time I played was nearly a month ago, and I ended up having to see a chiropractor in San Leandro because of it.
It started out as a normal day. We met at the tennis courts in the park, and we played doubles for nearly an hour. It was right at the end, and I was trying to get a point to break the tie, when I overextended myself. I knew instantly that I pushed my body too far, and I felt it mostly in my side and lower back. We called it a day, and I even begged off our normal lunch date after a game because I was just feeling the pain from what I had done.
I went home and put a heating pad on it, and I even took a few pain pills to help make me feel better. After a few days, I knew that I needed to see a professional because it was just impossible to sit or lay down comfortably. I was able to get into a local chiropractor’s office the same day I called. He could tell that I was in a lot of pain from his initial examination. He took some X-rays as well because he wanted to make sure that there was not any internal damage other than what he suspected already. Thankfully, there was not. He was able to help me with the pain that same day, and it lessened even more when I followed the simple exercises he gave me to do at home. I went for three visits to have adjustments done, and I am ready to play a game of tennis again now!
